Davies Group is a specialist professional services and technology firm working in partnership with leading insurance, financial services, and highly regulated markets. Driven by a vision of "powering innovation," their global team relies on core values of being dynamic, connected, innovative, and succeeding together. They are an organisation that prides itself on being trusted experts, requiring communications that are authoritative, relevant, distinctive, and inspiring.

The Ask

As part of a massive commercial growth initiative by Davies’ Technology division, I was tasked with designing a series of digital brochures to support the commercial team.

Alongside this collateral, the brief required the comprehensive design of high-stakes Request for Proposal (RFP) documents and presentation slide decks for each of its key sales verticals, specifically Banking & Markets, Insurance, and Local Authorities. The challenge was multifaceted: I needed to strictly adhere to the newly established Davies 2025 Brand Guidelines while transforming dense, highly corporate sales information into engaging, clear, and persuasive visual narratives that would help the team win enterprise-level pitches.

What I Did

I approached the project by translating Davies' strategic brand values directly into visual assets, ensuring every layout decision served a specific communicative purpose.

Designing for 'Movement' (Brochures): For the digital brochures across the sales verticals, I leaned heavily into the brand's 'dynamic' value. I utilised the prescribed brand gradients, which deliberately portray "change" and "movement", to create energetic and engaging visual treatments. By pairing this with their primary typeface, Gotham, the brochures achieved a modern, honest tone that felt sophisticated but entirely approachable.

Engineered for Clarity (RFP Design): RFPs are notoriously complex and text-heavy. To apply best practices for RFP layouts, my primary focus was on cognitive ease and the strategic highlighting of key data. I utilised the brand’s defined colour tints to meticulously separate the information hierarchy, creating bespoke infographics and diagrams that made dense data easily digestible for busy decision-makers. By ensuring all copy was left-aligned with generous leading, and using font weight strictly to highlight critical takeaways, I designed an RFP layout that visually matched Davies' required "knowledgeable, expert and calm" tone of voice.

System-Ready Sales Tools (Slide Decks): For the presentation decks, it was vital that the sales teams could edit and adapt the files seamlessly in real-world scenarios. I adapted the core visual identity to feature the brand's approved alternate system typeface, Calibri. This ensured that the PowerPoint documents remained structurally sound, highly accessible, and visually on-brand across all internal computers, without ever breaking formatting when shared.

The Result

I delivered a cohesive, high-performing suite of sales enablement collateral that directly supported Davies’ commercial growth initiative.

The new digital brochures successfully differentiated the key sales verticals while maintaining unwavering brand consistency. More importantly, the newly structured RFPs and slide decks fundamentally elevated how the firm pitches for business. By prioritising clarity, dynamic data visualisation, and an authoritative aesthetic, the sales teams are now equipped with tools that don't just look visually compelling, but actively facilitate smoother reading and faster comprehension for prospective clients. The final assets perfectly reflect a brand that is both an established industry expert and a forward-thinking technological innovator.
